Hopeless, But Righteous

April 25, 2014

This should interest legal minds.  I don’t understand all the implications of this, but I can’t disagree with the Marshall Islands’ position.  If only the International Court of Justice had any means of enforcement through a United Nations worth its weight in its own paperwork.  Then maybe our own prisoners of foreign militaries would have a fair trial, too, rather than unjustifiable and indefinite detention in Cuba… once the Geneva Convention recognizes terrorists as belligerents, anyway…

The Marshall Islands hasn’t a chance of getting its claim really heard if the Court does rule in its favor, I expect.  But I’m with them in the argument, anyway.  <>  Good luck!
