Beware the IRkS

October 27, 2014

Try justifying this one.  I doubt this is the only time it has ever happened, and I severely doubt there is any law to warrant seizing this money at all–as much as I doubt it shall ever be returned to the rightful owner, either.  Does it matter if she is ducking the law?  Not really, if there is a legal means for her to do so, and if the total in the bank account is a comparatively paltry figure like $33,000.  If the IRS is so hard up to steal this type of money from private citizens, I wonder what they expect to be able to pay for with it.  How is it worth the government’s investment of time and personnel if this won’t even cover a single agent’s annual salary?
